Challenges of the customer

Our customer was already using Microsoft Teams and Office products – but emails, calendars and contacts were still running via Google Workspace. This led to duplicate license costs, security gaps and media disruptions. The aim was it, create a unified Microsoft environment without data loss or business interruption createdata protectioncompliant and future-proof.

Our approach

A migration from e-mails, calendarentries and contactsfrom Google Workspace to Microsoft 365. Our goal: a smooth transition without data loss – with clear communication, maximum security and minimum effort.

Target definition

Together with the customer, we defined a clear migration goal, coordinated the timeline and selected MigrationWiz, a migration tool that reliably transfers emails, calendars and contacts - without compromising on security or convenience.

Tool selection

The app was developed cross-platform for iOS and desktop and the technical infrastructure was set up in parallel and a lean release and deployment process was defined. The backend is based on Flask/Python and the data storage on Microsoft SQL Server.

Technical equipment

A technical migration account was set up, access tokens were created and authorized interfaces to Google and Microsoft 365 were activated - so all mailboxes could be transferred automatically, in compliance with data protection regulations and without password access.

Test migration & structured cutover

First, we migrated and validated two mailboxes as a test. This was followed by the premigration of all existing data. The final switchover point (MX record) was planned and fully implemented by us outside of business hours.

Communication, go-live & post-migration support

All end users were informed in advance about the final migration to M365 and transferred securely to the new Microsoft environment through targeted communication and accompanying introductory steps. We accompanied the go-live and validated all mailboxes. Even after the changeover, we were available as a point of contact to clarify questions and take over any support cases directly.
