Challenges of the customer

The company previously had a solution for displaying information in the production halls that was based on expensive, external “DigiBoard” systems. The hardware was associated with high ongoing license costs, which is why this solution should not be continued. The previous interim solution consisted of PowerPoint presentations that were updated once a week – these were error-prone and insufficiently up-to-date.

The aim was to develop a solution that was both cost-effective and flexible. The new solution is based on software that was individually programmed for the company and therefore not only saves ongoing license costs, but also gives more control over the content.

Our approach

The solution is based on Microsoft PowerApps and Dataverseto create a user-friendly platform that displays interactive content on large touch panels and efficiently controls the content process.

Workshop phase

The vision, requirements and target architecture were developed with the various stakeholders in a structured workshop.

Process analysis & solution design

A detailed solution design was developed, which enables scalable and efficient management of the information boards.

Initial setup of the Power Platform

A professional multi-environment strategy was introduced, which enables a clear separation of development, testing and production.

Development and implementation

The front end was developed and validated using PowerApps, while Power Automate automates processes such as content archiving and publication scheduling.
- Content management: Users can schedule content for specific halls and publish , enabling efficient management across multiple locations .
- Interactivity: Users can consume news and up-to-date information via touchscreens, including news, team announcements and menus.
