Challenges of the customer

The customer was faced with the challenge of lifting a fragmented data landscape consisting of ERP, MES and CRM systems onto a consolidated platform. The question arose as to whether a best-of-suite approach (Microsoft Fabric), a highly integrated specialist provider (Palantir), a customized solution (Brickmakers) or the further development of the existing Qlik ecosystem was the right way forward.

Particularly critical: the balance between time-to-value (rapid implementation of use cases), long-term governance (security, data quality, ownership) and user acceptance.

Our approach

In a structured consulting approach, jovoco combined service design thinking with in-depth technical analysis. The goal: a decision template that not only convinces IT, but also the specialist departments.

Sharpening of requirements

At the start, workshops were held with the customer's IT, controlling and supply chain management. The priorities for governance, integration scenarios and user acceptance were defined together.
1

Proof of concept

All four platforms were then tested using a practical supply chain and forecasting use case. This made the differences in time-to-value, data integration and user-friendliness tangible.
2

Development of an evaluation matrix

The results of the tests were recorded in a structured evaluation matrix. Criteria such as cost model, governance capability, depth of integration and user experience were given equal weighting.
3

Stakeholder involvement

The results were presented visually in management workshops. This enabled IT and specialist departments to discuss, evaluate and prepare a well-founded decision together.
4

Derivation of recommendation & roadmap

Finally, a clear recommendation for action with a roadmap for the next 12-24 months was drawn up - aligned with strategy, budget and governance requirements.
