Challenges of the customer

The company had numerous parallel tools and Excel lists for project planning and task management. This fragmentation led to inefficient processes, duplicate data collection and a lack of transparency. In addition, incomplete or inconsistent information made it difficult to make project decisions. The aim was to establish a uniform project portfolio management system that standardized processes, clearly mapped responsibilities and provided a reliable basis for management decisions. A particular challenge was to reconcile technical requirements with acceptance and user-friendliness.

Requirements analysis & target definition

The initial situation was recorded, requirements were collected and a clear target image was defined together with the stakeholders.

System selection & architectural design

Based on the requirements, Microsoft Project for the Web with Power Platform was selected as a future-proof solution and the system architecture was defined.

Technical implementation

The PPM system was configured, Dataverse structures were set up and automation was implemented with Power Automate. Power BI reporting was also created.

Training & change management

Key users received targeted training. A change program accompanied the introduction to ensure acceptance and use.

5. go-live & sustainable operation

After a pilot phase, the system was gradually rolled out and put into operation. A support concept ensures long-term use.
