In a dynamic assembly environment, precise resource and schedule planning is crucial for success. Although the assembly-board was in use before the start of the project, it was only integrated into the ERP system to a limited extent. This led to time delays, additional coordination work and a lack of transparency regarding current resource availability.
Updating schedules and assignments was manual, error-prone and required a high level of technical expertise – especially when making adjustments to the SQL database. At the same time, there was a lack of reliable process metrics for controlling and evaluating planning quality. The aim was to make the assembly board fit for the future: integrated, automated and user-friendly.
The existing assembly board was technically and functionally enhanced to sustainably optimize resource and schedule planning. Proven methods were used in combination with agile approaches – in close coordination with the respective specialist departments and with a clear focus on integration, usability and efficiency.
